wind screen washer fuse blowing

53 plate S60 D5, the wind screen washer fuse (16) keeps blowing intermitantly. front left head lamp wiper also intermitantly fails to return. don't know if this is related. there is plenty water in the tank, but no sound from the pump. any suggestions what is wrong, how to fix and how much it might cost

I am having the same problem. I think its because the headlight wiper motor is sticking casusing the fuse to fail. I think the headlight wipers and the windscreen washer are protected by the same fuse Currently keep spare 15amp fuses handy but any advice on fixing/replacing the wiper motor would be appreciated.

Hi to colsy101 and to calderaman . This problem is on all volvo cars . I own a 2003 v7o p2 that blows the fuse on operation of the headlight wipers ,but only with headlights on so you must remember not to washwipe with them on untill headlight motor is replaced . To replace the motors front bumper is removed to get at the motor units .On new models you can get at the motors by top of bumper removal .I have sprayed mine with penetrating oil .It looks time consuming to me. And like colsy the nearside wiper is stuck and not in the park position. And a happy new year to you both.
