from memory i think its around a 15mm spanner and just unscrews from the side, disconnect the wires first though! lol

Thanks mike I know were it is but I need to know if there is a socket or spanner that will go on without removing the thermostat ie the torx bolts are solid .

hey thanks powernut thats what I needed to know have not damaged the torx bolts yet but needed to know what my options were . I might get some sleep tonight know I know there is another way to approach this problem.

hi bb54 thanks for your reply got the right torx bit and undid one bolt , but cant seem to find one long enough for the bolt nearest the block .

hi, a magnetic extension bit holder is what i used, they are about two and a half inches long,i tried using two but the connection started twisting. wayne
