yesterday I was in a pro tools session, opened up the midi editor window, and clicked the display notation button or the midi mirroring button and up popped a message window saying error 202: A device ID has been used that is out of range for your system. i closed the message window and went about my business. Now during PT's opening sequence when it gets to "loading notation libraries" i get the same error message. i click ok and the window pops up again and again until about the 20th time when it loads normally. it happens even if i try opening a different session than the one where the error initially occurred. now this has happened once before and I solved it by uninstalling and reinstalling PT. Anyone else experienced this and found a solution.? Anyone know why I would get this message in the first place?
How did you fix this error using the tech support util...what option did you choose? I just installed the PT LE 8 update, and this is the only error I get when the Notation Libraries load as PT loads up. It only pops up once and that's it...but it returns with every startup.
This thread says that the tech support utility will correct the error 202 message. What tech support untility are you/they talking about?????? Dan Perry
I have looked at all of the guidance in the tech support folder. The instructions do not include a Trash Preference database option. This is a menu driven program so what menu items am I to select? I have windows XP and the 003 Rack+, Please be specific. Dan Perry
