timing belt

Thanks for the reply the only mark i can see on crank pulley is on top of the tooth yet every picture i have seen the mark it is located on the bottom of the tooth other problem i have is i dont have the crankshaft locking tool,can you tell me what the mark looks like mark.

its not easy to see the mark until you take the pulley off because it is on the engine or inner boss of the pulley , quite pronounced though ... it lines up with the mark cast in the alloy cover at about the 11 o clock position .. its not particularly related to the teeth

thank you i shall look tonight when i finish work the reason i did not see it is because i had no need to remove pulley the belt was just replaced before i got the car
