'93 240 Leaking Water in Passenger Compartment

Thanks, I'll check all that out Sunday. Man, what a pain to clean those intake areas. Wish I could find those snow covers.

Which type of scuttle panel do you have? IPD do a reproduction one for the single vent, and they occasionally pop up on forign ebay sites...ive only seen 1 pair of the other type of snow caps (i.e for 2 vents)

Later series have a fine mesh over the intake slots which is a lot more sensible!

I unfortunately have the 2 vents, not the single. I am still trying to master a method of cleaning them out.

You need to pull up the carpet to get access to the plastic plugs in the drainage channel. Once you remove these shove a vacuum cleaner up in the channel and slowly pull the stuff out. Once you've got enough out flush some water down from the vents- the stuff should be pushed down into the channel. Then repeat above steps.

RE: '93 240 Leaking Water in Passenger Compartment

I once had to kill time driving around Glasgow awaiting my family landing at the airport. It was absolutlely pouring with rain and suddenly I felt water on my right leg. WTF's this I thought - it was almost streaming in. To cut a long story short it was nothing whatever to do with door seals or any of the initial thoughts I had - it only happened when I had my roof bars attached - somehow water was finding its way in via one of the clamps that go on the roof gutter.
