RE: 855 has steamy windows !!! :)

Hi all, just wondered if anyone knows why my 855 has a little condensation on the inside of the windows and the back, rear quarter and rear passenger windows 'fog up' all the time? The windscreen and front side windows don't suffer very much at all. None of my other cars have ever had this problem. Any ideas anyone...? Ta.

Hi, Water ingress into the cabin? Do you lose coolant at all? Check the level! Check your door and window seals. Check your front footwell carpets for dampness.. Do you have a sunroof? Check the drainage from it if you do.. Des. . . ;)

have you got your air recirculation button on? if you have this just reciculates the air inside the car instead of drawing fresh air in from outside, this will then mist up your windows! regards cavey

Thanks Guys, until recently I did have a small sunroof leak and a blocked drain which soaked the footwell carpets - these are now drying out but not completely dry yet adn I guess when thet are dry the misting up will stop. Cheers - Neil.

850's are well reported for misting up, indeed there is a fan system that can be adapted to the 855/70 models... see what happens when your carpets dry out but it may well be something you have to adapt too... cheers jod

Thanks Jod, I'll keep an eye on it. Any more info/links on the 'adapted fan'?

Sorry for bring this topic up but mine has just started having this problem. Windows are steaming up when the car is driven. No coolent loss over the last two weeks so matrix seems fine. This happens when the air con and recirc is on or off. Only thing is the air con is not really getting cold any more and it was regassed last summer so it may have a leak somewhere. Any ideas or notes on that fan adaption?

I checked for a pollen filter under the cover near the windscreen but there wasn't one there or the bracket to hold one.
